SPORTS OUTREACH - UGANDA

SoU is a youth-based ministry program devoted to empowering young people through sport & lifeskills training to build meaningful social and health relationships. We reach out by contributing to the development of our local community.

Sport is a universal language that cuts across denominational, cultural, racial and geographical boundaries.  Many young people in Uganda are gifted in sport, which need be fostered and utilized.

The youth are generation considered as lost, hurting and dying. They need to be reached with a message of hope and encouragement.  God the Father, through Jesus Christ, has communicated to the world the message of his love and forgiveness through his death and resurrection 2000 years ago.

As Gideons Youth Organisation we are taking this "Good News" message to the young people in Uganda though sport to show the relevance of Christ; His love and His redemption by promoting common values that unite us and not divide us.

Our strategy:  reaching out to churched and unchurched youths though sport and life skills as a mean to be relevant to their needs– social, spiritual, economic, as well as to share our faith using a Biblically-based program.  We aim to give our youth a chance to develop talent and ultimately to make a difference in their lives.
